I am drawn to the angel for inspiration, but I steer clear of any religious references, proclaiming that the angel is not tied to any particular religious sect but can be found in many. It is more the iconic status the angel is given that forms the basis of my interrogation; yet my work questions the ideological notion. We see a fallen angel, an angel with human flaws, an angel in isolation, loneliness, depression and often trapped. it is not my intention to take pity from the viewer, but for the viewer to question whether perfection actually exists.
